BIOGRAPHY

Lalitha Lajmi was born on 17th October 1932 in Calcutta. In 1994 she was invited to Guru Dutt Film Festival. There was an illustrated lecture on her works in London organized by Mr. Gopal Krishna Gandhi – Indian High Commission at Nehru centre, London.

 

She has many Solo Shows to her credit. They are shows of her paintings and etching prints.

In 2006, Tehelka presented one Oil Painting “ART FOR FREEDOM” for BON-HAMS Auction in London. The painting was sold at the Indian Cancer Art Society at the Taj on the 17th March, 2012 and was purchased by the Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai. The entire proceedings went for the Ratan Tata Cancer Society.

Was commissioned to work on a painting for the domestic airport in Mumbai by Tarana Khubchandani of Art & Soul Gallery.

Her work was shown in Saffronart.com for several years and sold by them.

She had participated in the 4th Quanlan International Print Biennial in 2013.

Participated in a group show of women Artists in Hydrabad at Shrishti Art Gallery in 2012’

Participated in a large Annual group show in Banglore at Sara art GALLERY IN 2010,2011,2012 ,2013

Participated at The united Art Fir in Delhi in September 2013’ New works.
